Why would an all-good and all-powerful God permit suffering?

Saint James writes, “Whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” (James 1:2–3)

Christ tells us, “From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required” (Luke 12:48)

Jesus did not come merely to help you get by; he came to give you fullness: “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10)
